In the southernmost part of the Belluno province, the three towns of Alpago, Chies and Tambre offer sports enthusiasts and tourists an unlimited number of outdoor activities. During the summer, this area fills with mountain bikers and hikers, while in the winter the same paths are used for cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering.
Alpago also attracts foodies for its renowned restaurants and the famous Alpago lamb, a Slow Food Presidium.

Santa Croce Lake, which is the largest lake in the province of Belluno and the second largest in Veneto, is a popular destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. Air currents that pass through the narrow Fadalto valley make the lake one of the windiest areas in the province. During the summer months, sunbathers, swimmers and campers frequently visit the grassy beach and local restaurants.
The shores of the lake are an ideal place for long walks. Starting from the basin, paths lead to the ‘Oasis of Sbarai’ wetlands, an area that is particularly interesting for its biodiversity and birdwatching opportunities.
